Page created. The Highbinders is to be produced by Jackie
Chans own company, Emporer Multimedia Group and will be shot
in Hong Kong with a budget of around $35 million. Alongside
Chan in the leading role is Lee Evans, one of Englands best
andmost loved comedians. He has appeared in such films as
The Fifth Element, There's Something About Mary, Mousehunt
and the upcoming British comedy, The Martins. In this he will
play Chan's partner, a British police officer, a role that
was to be played by Rowan Atkinson. Directing duties on this
one go to Samo Hung replacing reginald Hudlin who was attached
until just a couple of days ago.
The film will commence production in July and will avoid the
SAG strike because of the International cast and the fact
that it shoots in Hong Kong. The shoot will then move on to
Dublin, Ireland and will rap after 12 weeks.
