The UK release date for Danny Boyle's rather
wonderful kids flick Million has changed yet
again. This time it's been pushed back to 27th
May. I wonder what the hell Pathe are doing
with it, it all smacks of they don't really
know what to do with it.
i just hope all this shuffling about, it was
supposed to come out nearly six months ago!,
doesn't harm the film's chances.

Danny Boyle doing a low budget comedy, and who'd have thought
that from the director of Trainspotting? Well he's made it and
it will be released in the UK on 3rd December. He's shown he
can genre hop but his work has generally had a darker edge to
it, will the same be true with this?

2004: Millions Update:
Some great shots of Danny Boyle's Millions can be seen over
at The
Hollywood Reporter. The story focusses on two young boys
who come across the loot from a bank robbery, but have only
a week to spend it before the UK switches to the euro. James
Nesbitt, Lewis Owen McGibbon, Alexander Nathan Etel and Daisy
Donovan star in the film that is being released on December
1st. Pathe are distributing the movie in the UK, while Fox Searchlight
pick up the US rights.

Update:
Fox Searchlight is poised to acquire North American rights to
director Danny Boyle's Millions. The film follows two Liverpudlian
boys who stumble across money from a bank heist and have just
one week to spend it all. Frank Cottrell Boyce (24 Hour Party
People) wrote the screenplay.

Anon has been in touch with a description of a scene filmed in Newcastle for Millions "A van was chased through town by Police, the van stops and the robbers jump out of the back and dissapear into a crowd of football supporters at St. James Park footbal stadium, Newcastle."

Here's an update on Million's Danny Boyle's currently filming kids movie. The cast includes: Daisy Donovan, Alexander Nathan Etel, Lewis Owen McGibbon. Premise: Anthony (aged 9) and Damian (aged 7) stumble upon £229,320 – the cash from a bank robbery, and decide to invest it. The only problem is, Britain is joining the Euro in seven days…
A set report on the filming has appeared online "I was shopping in Didsbury, Manchester, England last week when I spied a camera crew on the opposite side of the road. In the middle of the crew was the one and only Danny Boyle shooting his new movie. We were stopped from moving across the shot and had to wait for the scene to be filmed. The action was set in the local Pizza Hut and the crew were filming a scene where two young lads leave the Pizza Hut and cross the road towards the crew. As they moved out of shot a small group of 'Big Issue' (a magazine sold by homeless to raise money for themselves not sure if they have them over your neck of the woods!) sellers leave the Pizza Hut and have an animated discussion. "
Monday 27th April 2003: Millions Update:
Information has been slipping out on Danny Boyle's next movie called Millions. The movie is a kids movie and is set at Christmas just before the Euro comes to England. All the main roles are going to be played by kids. James Nesbitt has a role in the movie with filming starting this week in Manchester with a scene thought to be taking place outside Selfridges.
Tuesday 15th April 2003: Millions Update:
Danny Boyle will soon be in Liverpool filming on Millions with the shoot
thought to be taking 10 weeks. The movie is being financed and distributed
by Pathe Films. The plot of the move follows two young boys who stumble on
the proceeds of a bank robbery, and then struggle with the decision of what
to do with the cash with only a week before the conversion to euros makes
their loot worthless.
Monday 17th March 2003: Millions Update:
Filming on Millions, Danny Boyle's next directorial outing is being planned to kick off in Liverpool on the 5th May. The script has been written by Frank Cottrell Boyce.
Tuesday 21st January 2003: Millions Update:
Director Danny Boyle has revealed that his next project will be called Millions that will be set in the near future during the transition period as the UK converts from Pounds to Euros. The movie is being developed by Mission Pictures with the script written by Frank Cottrell Boyce.
