Friday 30th January 2004: Miracle Update:
Darrin has been in touch with the following " I was an extra during a few scenes and they also used my car, a bright GREEN 1970 American Motors Gremlin. This was when they were filming a scene in Rossland, BC, Canada. It is the scene when Kurt Russel is driving around in his powder blue Dodge Dart, looking for a christmas gift for his wife. (This is what I was told from the director). The original idea for the scene was to use me (driving my car) and a blue '69 Volkswagen Bug to be "traffic" in the scene. I thought this was very fitting as back in the '70s, the Gremlin was the VW Bug's direct competition.
Unfortunately, as it turned out, Main Street in Rossland was not wide enough for them to be able to drive the Filming rig (with Kurt Russel and Dodge Dart) and have traffic. So my car was used in front of the "Lake Placid Library" and I was an extra during several scenes."

Anon has been in touch with the following "On your website for the upcoming hockey drama, Miracle you have Mike Rich listed under "written by" - this is not the case. As decided by the Writers Guild of America, Mike Rich will recieve NO credit - the only writer who will be listed is ERIC GUGGENHEIM who penned the screenplay. So, please update your website to include Eric Guggenheim as the writer and to remove Mike Rich entirely."

Michael Steven weighs in with a report on the Canadian production scene that is heating up again :

Will Smith's big-budget "I, Robot" starts filming in Vancouver, May 6 to Oct. 1, with Alex "The Crow" Proyas directing.

Set construction has begun on Vin Diesel's "The Chronicles of Riddick", sequel to 'Pitch Black'. Director/writer David Twohy is back again with Ja Rule and Judi Dench recently signed. Vancouver's huge indoor set 'The Bridge Studios' is booked for the show from April to September.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini are back for "Scooby Too". 'Scooby-Doo' director Raja Gosnell helms again. Filming begins April 9 to July 22.

Ben Affleck started filming "Paycheck" April 1, the script based on Philip K. "Blade Runner" Dick's short story about an electrician who has his memories removed by his boss. Director John "Face Off" Woo directs. Filming will continue until July 16.

Jennifer Lopez and Robert Redford are set to star in "An Unfinished Life" with Lasse Hallstrom directing.

Just received word about Miracle "all of the indoor arena filming for Miracle is going to be shot in Prince George BC at the Prince George Multiplex. The Arena is home to The Prince George Cougars of the WHL and holds approx 6000 people. The funny thing about the arena shots being done at the Prince George Multiplex is that Kurt and Goldies son plays hockey and was drafted by the Prince George Cougars." Thanks to Darren & Rhonda!

Thursday 27 th February 2003: Miracle Update:
Just received the following information on Miracle "filming begins this Sunday on Miracle in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada. The town is being used as a backdrop for street scenes, apparently Rossland looks like 1980 Lake Placid where the Olympics took place. Check out www.rossland.com for info on the town. With a population of only 3500 people you can imagine that the filming is having quite an impact on the economy and general life of the town." Thanks to Anthony!

Thursday 16th January 2003: Miracles Update:
Disney have signed up Patricia Clarkson to star in Miracles that will be directed by Gavin O' Connor. Filming starts in Vancouver this March. She will star as the wife of Head Coach Her Brooks who is being played by Kurt Russell.

Tuesday 31st December 2002: Miracle Update:
Hi, I have some info on the movie MIRACLE about the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team that Kurt Russell is currently set to star in. I auditioned for the movie about a month ago in Boston (they're looking in about seven cities across the US) and last week went back to Boston with the other "callbacks" so the casting people could see us skate - they're pretty serious that this hockey movie will feature some believable hockey players. Anyways, the most recent reading callbacks for the better skaters were this past week and those of us who did well there were flown to LA the weekend of December 7 and 8 to audition for the director. People hired for the movie will go to Canada for hockey camp for six weeks starting January 19th and shooting is scheduled to begin in LA in March running to June. Hopefully this is the kind of info you guys are looking for. 'Thanks to Alan'.

Wednesday 18th September 2002: Miracle Update:
Disney are in talks to sign up Kurt Russell to star in Miracle as Herb Brooks olympic hockey coach. Miracle will tell the tale of the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team who beat the Russian team against all the odds. Miracle has been written by Mike Rich. Directing Miracle will be Gavin O'Connor. Filming is thought to be in Canada early next year.
