Wednesday 21st January 2004: Mystic River Update:
Warner Bros. has announced today that they are expanding the US release of the movie to 1,350 cinema's starting on the 23rd January, as they have been delighted with the success of the movie so far. I totally applaud this, it's about time a well acted, intelligent movie got some support instead of the usual briandead nonsense, and once again shows that if an audience is given some quality, intelligent fare then they will lap it up.

Thursday 11th December 2003: Mystic River:
Director Clint Eastwood's "Mystic River" has won the first major prize of this year's film award season.
The film topped the US National Board of Review's list of the best 10 films of 2003.
Sean Penn was named best actor for "Mystic River" and "21 Grams".
National Board Of Review voters include film industry professionals who pick the first winners of the season that culminate with the Academy Awards telecast in February.
Diane Keaton won best actress for "Something's Gotta Give".
"The Last Samurai" director Edward Zwick was named best director.

Mystic River has done itself no harm in the Oscar race this year as it was named yesterday as the best film of the year by the National Board of Review in the States. The National Board of Review's list of the 10 best films of 2003 is as follows:

Just received the following information on the recording of the Mystic River soundtrack "
Recording sessions for the Mystic River soundtrack were held in Boston's Symphony Hall, played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, on
March 31 and April 1, 2003. Three sessions were held over two days.
Clint Eastwood was in attendance; he wrote the music and was present
at the recording but did not conduct the sessions. The Boston
Symphony has recorded two previous movie soundtracks, for
"Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan." Thanks to Doug!

Clint Eastwood has signed up Eli Wallach who he starred alongside in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for Mystic River. Wallach will take the role of a liquor store clerk. Who is questioned by Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburn over a liquor store robbery that involved a gun that was used in a murder twenty years later.

Filming has begun on Clint Easwtood's next movie Mystic River on Thursday 26th September in Boston, filming is thought to be taking two months.

Filming began last week on Clint Eastwood's next movie Mystic River. Dennis Lehane writer of the novel that the movie is based onhad this to say about the project "They asked me things about the characters, what was I thinking when I created these guys that didn't show up in the book they wanted to know the backstories"

Clint Eastwood has signed on eight year old Cayden Boyd to play the sn of Tim Robbins and Marica Gay Harden in his upcoming movie called Mystic River.
