Word reaches us that Stephen Hopkins is in talks to helm the shelved Nautica project, it was originally going to be helmed by Ted Demme who passed away before the project could get started. Thought to be starring are Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal will star.

Wednesday 25th February 2004: Nautica Update:
Director Stephen Hopkins looks to have signed up Jake Gyllenall to replace Heath Ledger in Nautica. The movie is being developed at Columbia and will centre on three people yachting to the Bahamas who find themselves embroiled in skullduggery.

Monday 19th January 2004: Nautica Update:
Escape Artists have signed up Stephen Hopkins to replace the late Ted Demme as the director of Nautica. Signed up to star is Heath Ledger. The movie will follow three people yachting to the Bahamas who find themselves embroiled in skullduggery. The tale is told from the point of view of each character. The script has been written by Richard McBrien. The movie will be distributed by Columbia Pictures in the US.

Nautica was the movie that director Ted Demme was working on before his death.Director Peter Berg was thought to take over this project asd a tribute to Demme but has dropped out. latest rumour is that Tarsem is in talkeds to direct.
