Director Alexander Payne has signed on to direct Nebraska that will probably be distributed by Focus Features. The movie will be filmed in black and white on a sub $10 million budget. The script has been written by Bob Nelson and follows an aging alcoholic drafts his son to drive him from Montana to Nebraska so the old man can redeem his winning sweepstakes ticket. The son goes reluctantly, suspecting his dad's winning ticket is the same personalized form letter sent to millions.
