Tuesday 3rd August 2004: Oldboy Update:
Director Justin Lin and writers Ernesto Foronda and Fabian Marquez are to remake the Korean film Oldboy for Universal. Directed by Park Chan-wook, the original follows a man in his mid-30s who has been kidnapped by unknown captors and held in a room for years. On the 15th anniversary of his capture, he's knocked out and awakens in the middle of a city.

The South Korean film Old Boy from director Park Chan-Wook nabbed second prize at the Cannes film festival. The film is a blood-soaked thriller about a man out for revenge after years of inexplicable imprisonment.
