Wildwood has emailed in the following update on Old Man Johnson "The Friday Winnipeg Free Press Reel Life column by Randall King says Old Man Johnson has been delayed for two months.A quote from the three line item:

"It looks like actor Paul Newman is never going to face the reality of Winnipeg in January.

"Old Man Johnson, the movie Newman was scheduled to shoot here in January, has been delayed for two months and is now scheduled to proceed in March, according to industry sources.

"Somebody up here must like him."Senders note: I personally find a great beauty in winter here. They could have had a look a bit like, hell even better than the first "Grumpy Old Men" movie got in Minnesota . Or even better than " Fargo ."

Often think you could make a great Christmas movie here. So often Xmas films are shot in the summer.

Rumours are flying in the Winnipeg newspapers that Anthony Hopkins is being considered to star alongside Paul Newman in Old Man Johnson that is due to film in Winnipeg starting in January.

Monday 27th October 2003: Old Man Johnson Update:
Rumours are flying that Paul Newman will star in a project called Old man Johnson that will film in Winnipeg, starting next January. The movie is being produced by Pariah Entertainment. Newman would play a grumpy grandfather in the film, which is set in Chicago, or a Chicago-like city. He gets visited by his granddaughter, a young woman who finds herself intrigued by Newman's neighbour, the "Old Man Johnson" of the title, a young man apparently masquerading as an elderly one. Much of the filming has been earmarked for Winnipeg's Prairie Production Centre.
