Monday 24th November 2003: One Love Update:
ONE LOVE - a British feature film billed as a Jamaican Romeo & Juliet. It will be given a full nationwide release in the first quarter of next year. The script is by Trevor Rhone (Smile Orange) and the feature was directed by Rick Elgood (Dance Hall Queen) & Don Letts (Dance Hall Queen/The Punk Rock Movie/The Clash-The Westway to the World). ONE LOVE stars Ky-Mani Marley (reggae musician son of Bob Marley), Cherine Anderson, new rising star blessed with a great voice. Vas Blackwood. ONE LOVE tells the story of the forbidden love between a young Rasta reggae musician Kassa (Marley) and Serena (Anderson), the gospel singing daughter of a devout Pentecostal preacher. Brought together through their mutual love of music.
ONE LOVE explores how the power of music and love can overcome the strongest cultural and religious differences. Featuring music from Bob Marley, Shaggy, Chaka Dimas and Pliers, Ky-Mani Marley, Luciano and Junior Kelly. Blue Dolphin will be holding a special screening at The Warner West End on Sunday 30th November 10.30am for 11am
Monday 7th April 2003: One Love Update:
One of reggae legend Bob Marley's sons is to take the title role in a remake
of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, set in modern day Jamaica. Ky-Mani
Marley, who has followed in his father's footsteps to become a musician and
an actor, has called the project One Love, after one of the late Bob
Marley's best known songs. The film is to be made by Don Letts, a film-maker
and musician best known for his long association with punk band The Clash.
