Nick Nolte may be up for a role in Papa from writer
Denne Bart Petitclerc about his life in Cuba with Ernest
Hemingway. Adrian Noble directs but Anthony Hopkins
has dropped out.

24th February 2004: Papa Update:
Director Adrian Noble has signed on to direct Papa,
a biopic of the life of Ernest Hemingway. Starring will
be Anthony Hopkins and Meg Ryan.
Wednesday
29th October 2003: Papa Update:
Director Adrian Noble has signed up Anthony Hopkins
to star in Papa a biopic based on the life of Ernest
Hemingway. The movie is being developed by Franchise
Pictures, also thought to be taking a role in the movie
is Meg Ryan.
Tuesday 27th May 2003: Papa Update:
Two
rival big budget films about novelist Ernest Hemingway
are in the works,
one headlining Anthony Hopkins, the other Mickey Rourke.
Hopkins will appear
in a biopic produced by Franchise Pictures entitled
Papa, the nickname given
to the novelist by his friends. Rourke, meanwhile, is
to play the part in a
production being put together by British producer Harry
Alan Towers, also
known by his pseudonym of Peter Welbeck.
