Serves
me right for saying yesterday that there was
still no word on when Clerks 2 would film as
Kevin Smith has revealed that in an interview
today "I can't wait. We start shooting
October 10. It's a story about what happens
to the angry young man once he turns 35. We've
got all the same guys from the first film".

Kevin Smith revealed that he has a complete cast ready for Clerks 2. Smith added the sequel will be more visually sophisticated than its black-and-white predecessor and won’t be full of cameos like ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’. “It’s about the same dudes ten years down the line, older but not the least bit wiser,” he explained.

14th February 2005: The Passion of the Clerks:
On his View Askew site director Kevin Smith has announced that
the Clerks sequel will start shooting on April 18th. "This
is the funniest thing I've ever written. It's also really poignant,"
says Smith. "This isn't gonna be a cameo-heavy affair,
a'la 'Strike Back.' The only returning characters are Dante
and Randal, and Jay and Silent Bob." He adds that it won't
be a star-studded affair and that "Jay and Silent Bob have
about as much screen time as they had in 'Clerks.' This is Dante
and Randal's flick all the way."

27th January 2005: The Passion of The Clerks:
Director Kevin Smith has revealed on his View Askew site that
shooting of his Clerks sequel could be starting this April.
The sequel to the 1994 independent hit picks up 10 years later.
It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise
lasts into your 30s. It's time for the Dante and Randal to actually
grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect
pop culture and talk about sex.

6th September 2004: The Passion of the Clerks Update:
Director Kevin Smith has released a few tidbits about his Clerks
sequel over at his personal home page View
Askew. What it does mention is that this will be a back
to basics project with the only big names being Brian O'Halloran,
Jeff Anderson, and Jason Mewes, no cameos and no wink-wink to
the old movies. Jay and Silent Bob have about as much screentime
as the first movie and there will be a Clerks animated movie
seperate to this.

30th August
2004: The Passion of The Clerks Update:
Writer/director Kevin Smith is planning a sequel to his 1994
debut Clerks entitled The Passion of the Clerks picking up 10
years after where the original left off. As he puts it "It's
about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts
into your 30s, those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that
same exact situation, but in a place where it's time to actually
grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect
pop culture and talk about sex. It's: What happened to these
dudes?" Both Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson are signed
on, and Jason Mewes will return as stoner Jay.
