30th November 2004: Perfume: The Story of a Murder:
Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer will helm Perfume:
The Story of a Murder based on the book by Patrick Suskind.
Ben Whishaw will star as Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a
man born with no odor but a super-refined sense of smell
who becomes a scent-maker and eventually resorts to
murder to extract elements to create the ultimate fragrance.
Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman are also set to co-star
in the script from Tykwer and Bernd Eichinger. Martin
Moszkowicz produces for Constantin Film.

13th January 2004: Perfume Update:
Seems like Orlando Bloom is taking over the Brad Pitt
role, ie when a project is announced they attach his
name as there ideal casting. And today he has been announced
as who the makers are looking to star in Perfume that
will be directed by Tom Twyker. The latest version of
the script is by Andrew Birkin and is being developed
at Constantin Film. The movie will tell the tale of
a man born with no smell of his own yet he develops
a near super-human olfactory sense. Using his talent
to create unrivaled perfumes, he turns to murder while
searching for the ultimate scent.
