Geoffrey Rush's performance as Peter Sellers in a biopic of the comic great
is apparently looking good. The Life and Death of Peter Sellers considers
the late actor's genius/madness and the Aussie star reckons the role was the
"ride of my life.” "Peter Sellers was a very complex, fascinating man," said
Rush. "It was a brilliant script. I had a fantastic time working on it. I'm
hoping my performance is an 'inhabiting' of Sellers with some good laughs
early on in the first act."

The production of The Life and Death of Peter Sellers has had to be put on
hold while Geoffrey Rush has had to return to Australia on personal
business. The filming is being planned to restart on 23rd June.

Monday 2nd June 2003: Life and Death of Peter Sellers Update:
Comedian Johnny Vegas is to take the role of Harry Secombe in The Life and
Death of Peter Sellers. The new movie, currently shooting in London,
explores the famously turbulent marriage between Sellers and his one-time
wife Britt Ekland. Ed Tudor-Pole will play Spike Milligan, alongside
Geoffrey Rush and Charlize Theron as the 60s golden couple. The film also
co-stars John Lithgow as director Blake Edwards and Sophie Dahl as Ursula
Andress.

Thursday 22nd May 2003: Life and Death of Peter Sellers Update:
Geoffrey Rush is reportedly leaving the cast and crew on the Peter Sellers
biopic speechless, because he's the spitting image of the tragic comic. Even
Sellers' biographer Roger Lewis admits Rush has done so much research on the
British comic he has become him for the purpose of the movie. "Geoffrey
Rush's performance has got Oscars written all over it,” said Lewis. “He has
studied Sellers and told me that he had read my book three times. Even I
haven't read my book three times." The new movie is based on Lewis'
bestselling biography The Life & Death of Peter Sellers.

Monday 19th May 2003: The Life and Death of Peter Sellers Update:
The cast of a new film about comic genius Peter Sellers has been unveiled at
the Cannes Film Festival. Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush plays the Goon
Show star in the biopic, The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers. Stephen Fry
plays Maurice Woodruff, the "psychic" advisor on whom Sellers relied. Emily
Watson is his first wife, Anne Howe, and Emilia Fox his fourth, Lynne
Frederick, while Britt Ekland is played by Charlize Theron. Italian newcomer
Sonia Aquino makes her English-speaking debut as screen siren Sophia Loren.
The film will portray Sellers as a troubled genius unable to cope with the
pressures of fame. "I think he became the first really hip British actor
from the most unlikely background," said Rush. "There were great British
actors around like David Niven and Alec Guinness but there was something
cool and chic and original about Sellers."

Sophie Dahl is set to play Ursula Andress in a new film charting the life of
Peter Sellers. The supermodel will play the actress, famed for her white
bikini scene in Dr No, in the multi-million pound movie which has just
started filming at Shepperton Studios. The cast also includes Geoffrey Rush
and Charlize Theron.

Wednesday 23rd April 2003: The Life and Death of Peter Sellers Update:
Filming on The Life and Death of Peter Sellers has started at Shepperton Studios. Scenes recently filmed include a scene where Sellers accepts the job to star in Return of the Pink Panther. They moved the production to Portland Street in London to film scenes at the same street that Seller's agent had his offices at. Word is that John Lithgow and Michael Caine will have cameo's in the movie also.

John Lithgow is set to play writer-director Blake Edwards and Stanley Tucci
has signed to portray late filmmaker Stanley Kubrick in The Life and Death
of Peter Sellers, a biopic of the late British actor. The duo join the
film's star-studded cast, led by Geoffrey Rush, who will portray the Pink
Panther star. The cast also includes Emily Watson and Charlize Theron as
Seller's first and second wives, respectively.

Friday 31st January 2003: The Life and Death of Peter Sellers Update:
It has been reported that Emily Watson has inked on to join the cast of the HBO movie The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Watson will star as Seller's first wife Anne Howe.

Charlize Theron has signed on to star as Britt Ekland in the Biopic based on the life of Peter Sellers. Also starring is Geoffrey Rush who will play Sellers.

Geoffrey Rush has been signed up to star in a movie based on the life of Peter Sellers. The movie is based on the book called The Life and Death of Peter Sellers by Roger Lewis. The movie is being produced by Stephen Hopkins.
