The story centers on a university professor (Swank) who debunks miracles. She is summoned to a small Louisiana town by a man (Morrissey) to investigate a series of bizarre occurrences that appear to be the 10 biblical plagues. Swank begins to fall for Morrissey but soon learns that he is not all that he appears. Elba will play a scientist and Swank's partner.

The supernatural tale revolves around a myth debunker (Swank) who travels to a small, religious town in Texas to investigate occurrences that appear to be the 10 biblical plagues. James Cox will direct based on a spec by Brian Rousso that has been rewritten by Chad and Carey Hayes ("House of Wax").
