27th October 2003: Red Rabbit Update:
Author Tom Clancy has confirmed that Ben Affleck will
hang on to the lead
role in the next Jack Ryan movie, Red Rabbit. There
had been talk of the
actor being replaced, but Clancy says that's all over
now. "Ben Affleck will
continue to be Jack Ryan", said the best-selling
author. Clancy added that
he wrote the Red Rabbit novel, which will form the basis
for the next movie,
with Affleck in mind for the role. He says he's the
best Ryan the screen has
seen to date.

2nd October 2003: Jack Ryan (Red Rabbit) Update:
Ben Affleck is facing the axe from the successful Jack
Ryan franchise,
according to Hollywood sources. The actor replaced Harrison
Ford in the Ryan
role for The Sum Of All Fears but, according to insiders,
Paramount
executives were unimpressed with his performance. They
are said to be
“seriously considering” recasting the role
and dropping Affleck after being
appalled by his last film, the massive flop Gigli.

Friday 9th May 2003: Red Rabbit Update:
Rumours
are circulating that Alec Baldwin is in talks to co
star in Red Rabbit alongside Ben Affleck. Now why is
this such big news? Well Red Rabbit is a Tom Clancy
novel that stars Jack Ryan and Alec Baldwin played Jack
Ryan in The Hunt for Red October. It is thought that
Baldwin would play Chief of Station Ed Foley. Thanks

Wednesday 19th March 2003: Red Rabbit Update:
Tom Clancy's new book Red Rabbit has had its movie
rights snapped up by Paramount Pictures. Robert Rodat
has been signed up to write the screenplay and it is
thought that Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Jack
Ryan. The movie will follow Ryan during his early CIA
career as he debriefs a high-level defector who reveals
that Soviet officials are planning to assassinate the
pope and destabilize the West.
