Tracie Thoms and Wilson Jermaine Heredia round of the cast of
the adaptation of stage play Rent by Christopher Columbus.

12th November 2004: Rent update:
Adam Pascal looks likely to reprise his role for the movie adaptation
of musical Rent. Pascal would play Roger Davis, a struggling
musician who is HIV-positive. Tracie Thoms has also been cast
as lesbian lawyer Joanne Jefferson, and Rosario Dawson will
play stripper Mimi Marquez.

8th November 2004: Rent update:
Rosario Dawson will play the female lead role of Mimi Marquez
in Revolution Studios' Rent, the Christopher Columbus-directed
adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Jonathan Larson musical.
Rent tells the story of a group of bohemians struggling to survive
in New York's East Village.
Tuesday
26th October 2004: Rent update:
The Chris Columbus adaptation of Jonathan Larson's Rent may
be looking to previous stars of the show with Taye Diggs, Jesse
Martin, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Idina Menzel in talks
to reprise their roles.

Warner Brothers has dropped out of producing the film version
of Rent, replaced by Revolution Studios. It is aiming for a
late 2005 release. -Hollywood Reporter

28th May 2004: Rent Update:
His acting debut Edison isn't even out yet but Justin Timberlake
is already in talks to star in Rent, a big screen version of
the musical from Chris Columbus. Warner Bros. are to distribute
the film which Columbus is also scripting.

7th May 2004: Rent Update:
Warner Bros. are to adapt the Jonathan Larson musical Rent with
Chris Columbus writing and directing. The story is an updated
version of Puccini's La Boheme set in New York's East Village.

Thursday 13th March 2003: Rent Update:
Rumours are circulating that Alan Cumming is being sought
to direct a big screen version of the musical. I've also heard
rumours that Baz Luhrmann is being considered, I think that
must be a rumour though as he is tied up with Alexander.
