The release of Ripley's Game looks like it will be put back for quite some time. Ananova report that the movie will be put back due to a technical fault that has left smearing all over the films print. Distributor Fine Line have refused to accept the film until the print has been remastered, leaving the production company with a cost that will run into the thousands. Producer Simon Bosanquet told UK paper Sunday Express that "The film is still in the labs because there are some problems. We're making certain adjustments. They're to do with marks and abrasions on the film. But there is no question that the film won't be released". Thanks go out to Sylvia.

Hoyts, Australia have posted the first batch of stills from Ripley's Game up on their official website. They feature John Malkovich who replaces Matt Damon (in The Talented Mr. Ripley) as Thomas Ridley.

Ripley's Game is the sequel to The Talented Mr Ripley. In fact Ripley's Game is the third of three books, 'Talented' was first, then a novel entitled Ripley Under Ground and then Ripley's Game.

In the role of Tom Ripley, the role that Matt Damon made famous in The Talented Mr Ripley is John Malkovich. Ripley's Game is set 20 years after the first novel.

Production started on Ripley's Game back in January 2001 in Venice, Italy. Scheduled release is October 11th (US).
