Thursday 22nd May 2003: The Sailmaker Update:
Screenwriter John Brownlow is to pen a rewrite on The Sailmaker, an epic
adventure tale to be helmed by director Simon West .The film, which was
originally written by Barry Schneider and Ron Montana, is a 19th century
tale of a sea voyage in which a sailmaker must come to the rescue after a
Spanish sea captain sinks into despair and alcoholism after the death of his
wife. The project is expected to start shooting next summer in Australia,
Malta and other locations.
