Thursday 16th October 2003:Saving Face Update: Joan Chen is set to star in New York-set romantic comedy Saving Face. Alice Wu will helm from her original script. Set amid New York's immigrant Chinese community, the film follows Wil, a Chinese-American surgeon in her late 20s who finds her life turned upside down when her single mother arrives on her doorstep pregnant. Subsequently, Wil must take her mother in and play matchmaker in an attempt to find a husband so the mother can return unashamed to her Chinese friends and family.
