Ain't It Cool News have several images from Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly. Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, and Rory Cochran star but the live action footage has been turned into animation.

Tuesday 15th June 2004: A Scanner Darkly Update:
A set visit to the adaptation of Philip K Dick's A Scanner Darkly can be found here. The sci-fi film is set in a future world where America has lost the war on drugs. Undercover cop Fred ( Keanu Reeves) is one of many agents hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes its users to develop split personalities. Fred, for instance, is also Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Along with his superior officers, Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to catch Bob and tear down his operation. Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, and Rory Cochran round of the cast while Richard Linklater directs the live action which he'll then turn into animation.

Tuesday 4th May 2004: A Scanner Darkly Update:
Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson and Rory Cochran have all been added to the cast of A Scanner Darkly, currently starring Keanu Reeves. Richard Linklater is to direct from his adaptation of the Philip K Dick novel which concerns an undercover drug officer (Reeves) in the future who becomes addicted and develops a split personality. The story will be filmed and then animated much like Linklater did with Waking Life.

Tuesday 30th March 2004: A Scanner Darkly Update:
Keanu Reeves has been signed up to star in A Scanner Darkly, the script has been written by Richard Linklater, who is also considering directing. Section 8 are producing at Warner Independent Pictures. Based on the book by Philip K. Dick the movie is set in the future, where undercover agents change their faces along with their identities. Reeves plays one such officer, and his liberal ingestion of the drug Substance D causes him to develop a split personality.
