More casting has been revealed
for Scary Movie 4. Lesie Neilsen and Simon Rex
will reprise their roles from 3, while Electra,
whose character died in part 1, will have a
new role, weird! The target of the spoofery
this time will be The Village, Horror movies,
and superhero movies.

4 with Craig Bierko signing up alongside Anna
Faris, Regina Hall and Leslie Nielsen. And,
I missed this yesterday, that Dr. Phil and Shaq
will be featured in the opening scene.

Anna Faris has signed a deal to star in "Scary Movie 4" for Dimension Films. David Zucker ("Scary Movie 3") will direct, and Craig Mazin and Pat Proft ("Scary Movie 3") are writing the script.

24th May 2004: Scary Movie 4 Update:
Star of the previous Scary Movie..er..movies Anna Faris
looks to be distancing herself from the franchise having
moved onto bigger and better things such as Lost in
Translation and a part in Ang Lee's forth-coming Brokeback
Mountain. She may return for a quick cameo depending
on scheduling and quality of the script, although this
can't have been a factor before.

Movie 4 is a lock after the success of Scary Movie 3.

Anna Faris has revealed that she has not been signed
on for Scary Movie 4,
if she does return it will depend on how Scary Movie
3 does when it's
released on October 24th. She also revealed that the
movie has a PG13
rating.
Monday 14th April 2003: Scary Movie 4 Update:
Dimension
Films has reportedly greenlit a fourth Scary Movie installment
which is scheduled to start production in June. Slated
for a first quarter
of 2004 release, the film will re-team the third film's
director, David
Zucker, with scribes Craig Mazin and Pat Proft and producer
Bob Weiss. Part
four will take on upcoming horror flicks as well as
the superhero genre. "We
are so confident in the team we have working on Scary
Movie 3 and so pleased
with what we have seen that we want to continue the
momentum and begin
production right away," said Dimension co-chair
Bob Weinstein. A handful of
the third film's cast will return for the fourth installment,
with
additional casting under way.
