Spider-Man 2 writer Alvin Sargent has landed a seven-figure deal to pen the next installment of the franchise and possibly the fourth. The third film's release date is set for May 4th, 2007.

She'll probably be considered for everything now but Lindsay Lohan is rumoured to be up for a part in Spider-Man 3. Possibly as a character called Firestarter or Firestar.

Sony have revealed that the release date for Spider-Man 3 has been set as 4th May 2007. There had been discussion of when they would release part 3 but it now looks like Sony are more confident of a May 2007 release date.

Thursday 4th March 2004: Spider-Man 3 Update:
Part 2 isn't even out yet, but Sony/Marvel are feeling rather confident about the Spider-Man franchise with the news that Spider-Man 3 has been greenlit. They are looking at a 2007 release date, but might even look at a 2006 release date. Marvel honcho Avi Arad had this to say about the news "it is a big movie, and we would rather play it safe and talk about 2007 at this point."

reported to have said that he'd love to do a fourth Evil Dead film.

Marvel Studios executive vice president Kevin Feige has been talking about the rumours circulating on possible casting for the in development Spider-man 3 and he rubbished them. "We have a good chuckle at all of those rumors," Feige said. However Feige assures us that these rumors are false.

Casting rumours already for Spider-man 3 with tittle tattle circultating that Venom and Carnage will be the main villains, well Marvel comics are promoting that these villains will take centre stage. The casting rumours revolve around Vin Diesel and The Rock as Eddie Brock and Sam Rockwell/ Christian Bale as Cletus Kassady.
