Patricia has been in touch with the following info
on 21 Grams " I was used as an extra in 21 Grams. I played
the wife of the young man who has trauma to his head in the
ICU scene with Sean Penn. The little girl who plays my daughter
is actually my niece. It was so much fun! Look for me if I
am not left on the cutting room floor. I was told by the casting
director that of all the extras that were cast, and there
were not a lot, I had the best scene in which I would be seen."

Just received the following set report from 21 Grams "I
was an extra in the movie 21 Grams. It is being filmed mostly
in Memphis, TN.
Benicio Del Toro plays a man who hits two young girls
while driving his car at night. Naomi Watts plays the
mother and Sean Penn plays a man who needs a heart
transplant and is hoping to get one from one of the
young girls. During the memorial scene Naomi Watts
snorts coke in the bathroom." Thanks to Tucker!

Just received the following info for 21 Grams "Filming
of "21 Grams" just wrapped in New Mexico. I had
a great time working with the crew in Albuquerque, Grants,
Moriarty, and the Zia Pueblo, (all locations in New Mexico.)My
feeling is that this film is going to be very interesting.
The director, Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu is very detailed
about what he wants the camera to capture. Sean Penn, Benicio
Del Toro, and Naomi Watts were all very professional and extremely
kind to the crew members. They always had a smile for us even
after hours of extremely intense work." Thanks to Anon!

7th March 2003: 21 Grams Update:
A set report for 21 Grams has been received today "I
saw a scene from "21 Grams" being shot in Albuquerque,
NM last night. In the scene Naomi Watts come out of a business
named "Enestine's Salon". Her car is parked in front
of this business. She is agitated and in a her hurry. She
gets into her car
hits an SUV parked in front of her and says something to the
effect of "why don't you get out of the way,you son of
a bitch". This filming was on the 600
block of Central NW in downtown Albuquerque. Two facades have
been put up on this block and "Enestines" is one
of them." Thanks to Al!

7th March 2003: 21 Grams Update:
Another set report from 21 Grams "Yesterday, the
cast and crew were back in Grants, reshooting some scenes
that were not prefect. My partner and I parked by the motel
and watched for 3 hours as Benicio repeatedly stormed into
room #204 of the Liesure Lodge to beat-up Sean Penn for several
scenes. Lying on the bed was Naomi, wearing a black bra. Later,
after the fight scene was over, Benicio took time to have
pictures taken with several law enforcement members and their
children, while their stunt doubles took over in the same
room. They finally wrapped the shooting up at 3:00 am MST.

3rd March 2003: 21 Grams Update:
Just received the following information on 21 Grams "Sean
Penn went into a joint called The Map Room to get a sandwich.
Playing in that room was Arthur Godfrey, a middle-aged postal
worker-turned-singer/songwriter from California. Sean loved
it, clapped loudly and left as soon as Arthur was done. But
Sean's manager asked Arthur for a CD he could give to Sean.Sean
tracked down Arthur, who was coming to Nashville for the Folk
Alliance convention this past weekend. So Sean came up with
some buddies from the set, and they all went Saturday night
to a small-but-cool listening room called The Basement to
hear Arthur play. Arthur was part of a multiartist show put
on by singer-songwriter Web site peermusic.com.Sean loved
Arthur's set and threw an impromptu party for Arthur and his
buddies at the Sheraton downtown. Sean spent much of the time
at the party on his cell phone to tell pals such as Bonnie
Raitt and Hunter S. Thompson how fabulous Arthur is.''He was
a really passionate artist,'' said Frank Goodman, Arthur's
buddy and a Peer Music bigwig. ''He was unbelievably gracious.''Arthur
Godfrey and his band will be in New Mexico for the final days
of shooting to perform at a private party for the film crew,
organized by Sean Penn. You can find information on Art Godfrey

Grand Prize at the 2001 John Lennon Singer Songwriter's Competition;

More 21 Grams filming information "Part of 21 Grams
was filmed in my home town of Grants, New Mexico USA. The
filming took place at the Leisure Lodge Motel on Historic
Route 66 Highway. Major road before Interstate I-40 was constructed
in the late 1960's. The Leisure Lodge Motel is one of the
few Motels still standing from the earlier years of Grants.

are scheduled to shoot tonight in Albuquerque, NM. They are
going to re-shoot the Martini Bar scene. But it's not looking
so good because it has been snowing here so they may just

Just had an update on the filming on 21 Grams "the
Director and Producer moved the location yesturday to Milan,
New Mexico (1 & 1/2 miles) from Grants. They were shooting
scenes at the Milan Police Station. There is still some equipment
at the Motel where they were shooting previously, and they
have not changed the exterior of the motel back to it's original
condition, as
of yet. There is still Security Stationed there.I understand
that they are supposed to move on to the next location

More information on the filming of 21 Grams with word
that "Director, Producer, Sean Penn, and several others
started filming at the Leisure Lodge, in Grants, New Mexico
on 17 February, 2003, and it's a closed set. They will be
filming all this week. I know this because I live here."

24th February 2003: 21 Grams Update:
Just received the following information from the filming
of 21 Grams "The cast and crew arrived to cold and sunny
weather on Wednesday, the 19th, Benicio's birthday. Needless
to say, the townfolk showed up in droves to see what was happening.
Next day, 25 degrees Fahrenheit and snowing like crazy!! Makes
an interesting day for the crew to make it look like it's
summer... Watched Naomi in one scene where she's wearing a
thin tank top, steps out of a room in a motel, looks into
the distance and walks stage right. Needless to say, it was
all of 30 degrees when that scene was shot, with a slight
breeze, making wind chill about 15-20 degrees!!! They make
her do that scene TWICE!!
Anyway, just thought you'd like to know what's going on here
is beautiful Grants, New Mexico, they shot several scenes
at one of our local police departments, too." Thanks

21st February 2003: 21 Grams Update:
The following set report has just been received "I
was on the set for one day but here's what I saw: We were
in an up-scale neighborhood located somewhere in Memphis.
Naomi's character pulls up at a house, jumps out of her SUV
and starts to talk with the gardener who has just whitnessed
an accident that included her husband and child. They did
that scene over and over. Then later that night we went downtown
for the Martini Bar shoot. All I really know about that scene
is that Naomi's character goes to the bar and Sean's character
follows her. She gets pretty drunk and tries to leave and
runs her SUV up on the curb and he tries to stop her. As far
as clothing they basically had on regular clothes. That same
night at the bar scene, when we got ready to shoot it started
to rain. So us poor little extras were freezing while standing
in the rain doing the scene over and over." Thanks to

Just received an email detailing some more filming information
from 21 Grams " Filmed at Anderton's restaurant, Memphis,
Wednesday afternoon, yesterday.Shooting Martini Bar shoot
Friday, Memphis, and back to Lombardy St. in Chickasaw Gardens
Memphis, Saturday to wrap up in Memphis,
then it's back to New Mexico for final shoot. 21 Grams will

Just received a report that filming on 21 Grams will be
at the Winchester Bowl, the Center has had a makeover for
the filming and one of the employees from the Bowl will be
involved in filming a scene with Sean Penn on one of the lanes.

The film 21 Grams is being shot in Memphis, TN. Did you know
that? I have seen 2 of the set locations here just in passing.
One is about 2 blocks from Beale Street. The other is in the
medical center where the hospital Elvis used is located. Haven't
seen any leading actors though. Is this a scoop? :-) 'Thanks

27th January 2003: 21 Grams Update:
Dark Horizons got a great on set report today from 21
Grams "They were filming a scene in which Sean Penn walks
into an apartment building (the William Len) and then walks
down the street. We watched Sean Penn walk back and forth
in front of my workplace (restaurant) for about 20 minutes.
Being that the temperature was about 15 degrees Farenheit
at the time of shooting, it didn't look very comfortable for
most of the people I saw".
