2004: The Talisman Update:
Ed Zwick, brought in to replace the previous director, has dropped
out of the Dreamworks project The Talisman. The script has been
a problem with several rewrites carried out by Carlo Bernard
and Doug Miro from Stephen King and Peter Straub's novel. The
story is about a young man's journey to find a talisman that
will save his mother's life, in the 1980s.
Tuesday
11th May 2004: The Talisman Update:
Director Ed Zwick, hot off The Last Samurai is the name being
bandied about to replace Vadim Perelman who recently left DreamWorks
production of The Talisman. An official announcement is shortly
expected.

3rd May 2004: Talisman Update:
Director Vadim Perelman has left the Steven Spielberg produced
project Talisman, an adaptation of the 1984 fantasy novel by
Stephen King and Peter Straub. The split was by mutual consent.

12th April 2004: The Talisman Update:
The adaptation of the 1984 Stephen King/Peter Straub novel The
Talisman is set to start shooting in August with a script from
Ehren Kruger.
Wednesday
31st March 2004: The Talisman Update:
"The Talisman", now budgeted at $135 million is scheduled
to shoot in Vancouver this year. Producers are Kathleen Kennedy
and Frank Marshall. The film will be based on a Stephen King
story, to be directed by Vadim "The House OF Sand And Fog"
Perelman. Premise is about a son in search of a talisman to
save his mother's life.

Director
Vadim Perelman will re-team with DreamWorks on his next film,
The
Talisman. The project is an adaptation of the 1984 Stephen King/Peter
Straub
novel in which a 12-year-old boy goes on a quest in this world
and in a
parallel universe to acquire a mystical talisman which will
save the life of
his dying mother.
