I'll be honest I have NO desire whatsoever to see this.
I've seen the French original and it's an adrenaline soaked
superior quality actioner. Why it needed a remake who the
hell knows. Oh I know, the pursuit of money. If you really
must see it, it's released in the US on the 8th October and
the UK on 19th November.

Actress Jennifer Esposito and Brazilian supermodel Gisele
Bundchen have joined the 20th Century Fox remake of French
film Taxi, which stars Queen Latifah and Saturday Night Live
anchor Jimmy Fallon. The comedy is directed by Tim Story,
with Luc Besson producing. Also joining the cast are Christian
Kane, Henry Simmons and Ana Cristina De Oliceira.

Casting
news on the Taxi remake with the addition of Jimmy Fallon who will
star alongside
Queen Latifah. Filming will start in September. Fallon will
play the young
cop alongside Latifah's Taxi driver.

Queen
Latifah is to star in the English-language remake of Luc Besson’s
Taxi.
Barbershop helmer Tim Story will direct the action comedy, with an
early
autumn start date planned in New York. The Besson-penned French hit
focused
on a pizza delivery boy turned cab driver whose ability to get to
places
quickly made him the perfect chauffeur for a cop trying to head off a
group
of bank robbers. Latifah’s current high profile and recent Oscar
nomination
persuaded the Fox studio execs to change the driver's gender to
make Latifah
part of the buddy formula.
