Looks like a Tekken movie is more than just
a pipedream with the following reveleation
from writer Mike Werb. Who revealed that
american footballer Brian White is the man
in the frame for one of the lead roles.
"You
can't go too far off the map when you're
working with a film thats source material
is a computer game. The idea here is to
make a realistic movie out of an unrealistic
stencil. You get guys like White, and whoever
else, and suddenly you've got people that
look like they belong in the world...What
we hope to do with 'Tekken' is to entertain
both those who have played the game, and
those that haven't - there's got to be more
than effects and skirmishes on screen to
hold an audience".
Friday
19th May 2004: Tekken Update: Director
Charles Stone has been signed up to helm Tekken. The
movie will be based on the computer game Tekken from
Namco. Tekken and it's game sequels are widely held
as the best fighting games around, I just hope they
do a better job with this than the other adaptation
of a fighting game Street Fighter.
Tuesday 15th April 2003: Tekken Update:
