Monday 17th November 2003: Terminator 3 Update:
Arnold Schwarzenegger is speaking up about the new vid-game based on last summer's movie "T3 : Rise of the Machines", from Intermedia, IMF and C2 Pictures. The "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" vid-game marks the first time
Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice/likeness have ever appeared in a game, with film co-stars Claire Danes, Nick Stahl and Kristanna Lokken rounding out the voice-over cast.
"Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" also features 15 minutes of footage taken straight from the film, with an exclusive-to-the-game five-minute segment, directed by "T3" helmer Jonathan Mostow. The vid-game storyline weaves in and out of the movie script as players encounter scenarios similar to those faced by 'John Connor', who must be protected from the threat of the 'T-X' killer fem-bot. Military bases, laboratories and downtown LA are some of the more than 20 locations featured in the game, with numerous futuristic weapons at the player's disposal, including the 'SkyNet Arc-Laser', 'Tech-Com Micro Rocket Launcher' and the 'SkyNet Assault Cannon'.

has raked in a total of $16.5 million in just two days. The movie enjoyed sensational

in 3,355 cinemas on Wednesday added another $12.5 million to the coffers. However,
there's still some way to go before the film hits a profit. At a cool $170
million, it ranks as one of the most expensive films ever.

23rd June 2003:Terminator 3 Update: Jonathan
Mostow has been revealing why he didn't cast Linda Hamilton for Terminator 3 "This
is my first time directing a movie I didn't also write, so I just thought I'd
work Linda's character into the existing story. But the more I got into the script,
the more I realized the linchpin of the new story is her son, John Connor. Linda
would have been a third wheel and that wouldn't have been fair to her or her fans."
He also commented on why he didn't cast Edward Furlong "I cannot comment
on the young man's personal problems, but what I will say is Eddie did a fantastic
job playing the character of John Connor at 13. Nick does a great job playing
him as a young man. The character is in a different psychological place now. You
can recast roles even if they are iconic roles. People said Hannibal could not
be made without Jodie Foster, yet Julianne Moore claimed the role with the first
three minutes of her first scene." Wednesday
18th June 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Now this is a funny story. Arnie
is poised to become a gay icon for Terminator 3. The start of the movie will
feature a naked Arnie crashing a gay nightclub to steal leather trousers and
jacket! Arnie had this to say on the new image for the Terminator "The
Terminator has been associated with leather. It's the most memorable kind
of outfit that was created for any character in the history of motion pictures.
I think the gay population is part of our society and the Terminator is an
icon character for people who are gay or not gay - liking him has nothing
to do with sexual preference."

the end of the film, in [one of the offices]. And, I mean, it is just complete
mayhem.Things are blowing up, and people are being shot, and there's me, just
walking through the destruction. It was very orchestrated. ... [I had] one chance,
you just try to somehow ... detach from what's actually happening and just focus
on your target and just keep going forward. But it was fun going forward."

Tuesday 20th May 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Terminator
3: Rise of the Machines producers and stars Kristanna Loken and Arnold Schwarzenegger
have been talking about Loken's female villain in the film. "We tested
over 100 girls for that role and she just jumped out of the screen,"
said Andy Vajna who, along with Mario Kassar, has produced all three Terminator
movies. "She kicked Arnold's ass, and he loved it. She's the only woman
I know who could do it." Added the actress: "When this job came
along I just thought it was the right marriage for my character with the
character in the film. I've always been tall, had a deeper voice, people
liked me but they didn't quite know how to cast me." Schwarzenegger said
that his only interactions with Loken were when they were both in character.
"Usually you don't hang out with the people that you fight with, it's
much better if you look at them as the enemy and just, you know, try and
kill 'em," he quipped. "In the movie, I'm a machine and she's a
machine. She's just pretending to be this sexy female, but there's a 2,000-pound
machine underneath that is ready to kill everything in its way."

Thursday 14th May 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Unconfirmed
news is circulating about a scene from the forthcoming Terminator 3 movie
which has ended up on the cutting room floor. A plane crash is said to have
been left out from the new film because of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Arnold Schwarzenegger himself has apparently admitted that several violent
scenes were cut out after the 2001 attacks. "A huge plane crash was
rewritten because one, it was too close to 9/11 and two, it was too expensive,
he said. Meanwhile, composer Marco Beltrami has been talking about his score
for the new movie. The big question is, will that familiar theme be resurfacing?
"I never had the idea to omit the original theme, he said. In
fact, it wasn't really up to me and I prepared an updated, orchestral version
of the Fiedel theme. However, as I worked on the movie, we found that this
theme sort of took the audience out of the movie when we tried to insert
it because this movie is not T2 and the theme automatically puts you back
in T2 land. In fact, this theme is actually used very little in T2 as well,
only in the ending scene and the credits. As it stands now, if they decide
to use my updated version of the T2 theme, it will be only in the end credits
and even this I cannot promise."

has been talking about Terminator 3 "We're always trying to outdo the last
thing. Terminator 2 was extraordinary and I think the way T3 is scripted it also
has a chance to be extraordinary. The audience was surprised [in T2] because I
started the movie looking like an evil terminator and then actually I became the
protector. There was something touching about this big machine with the little
kid. It's the same here again. I'm programmed to be the protector but things start
to go wrong and all of a sudden I change in the movie as well."

5th March 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Arnold Schwarzenegger has been talking
about the forthcoming Terminator 3: "The key thing is that when people come
out of the theater they say, 'Wow, I was really amazed.' That they really stepped
up and they made this movie better than the last one. This is what this is all
about. Everyone is trying very hard to outdo the last Terminator movie."
Referring to his bulking up in preparation for the film, he added: The
muscles have a memory so that whenever I don't train heavy I reduce in size.
For certain films it's better to weigh less and for certain films it's better
to weigh more."
 Tuesday
4th March 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Arnie has revealed how he arrives
from the future in Terminator 3 The Terminator arrives from the year 2029
and in his usual birthday suite attire, he is in search of clothing. The
T-850 approaches a strip joint called "The Spot" and luckily for
Arnold it happens to be "ladies night"! Since there are so many
other semi-nude male dancers, the bodyguards out front think nothing to out-of-the-ordinary
of the nude cyborg. The guard tells the Terminator to go around to the back
entrance but it doesn't listen and slams him and then throws him through
the air. Arnold enters nude through the front among dozens of screaming and
adoring female admirers of his massive body and spectacular private section.
The Terminator takes the clothes from one of the male dancers.

plot of Terminator 3 will involve the Terminators being dropped back during the

 Tuesday
21st January 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Director Jonathan Mostow has been
talking about the upcoming Terminator sequel and specifically about the pounding
Arnie takes from the Terminatrix "Arnold thought it was a great idea. He
knew, better than anybody, that watching this beautiful woman kick his a-- would
be incredibly entertaining for the audience. The physicality of this character
goes hand in hand with who he is, so that was certainly one of the first thoughts
that crossed my mind. But the first time I met Arnold, they were put to rest;
he looked fantastic, and that was before he was in a big workout regimen. The
Terminator arrives naked, and Arnold said to me, 'There's no greater motivator
for working out than knowing you're going to be naked in a movie."
 Tuesday

14th January 2003: Terminator 3 Update: A rumour is circulating that Sony
are contemplating moving the release date of Bad Boys 2 so that it is released
on the same day as Terminator 3. Now what is interesting is that Sony will be
distributing Terminator 3 inetrnationally for Warners while in America Terminator
3 is being distributed by Warners. If it does happen it will certainly hurt one
of them badly, guess it could come down to the reviews to decide which one you
go and see.
 Sunday
12th January 2003: Terminator 3 Update: Looks like Arnie is going to have
some serious firepower in T3 with word that the production will feature a gun
that is based on a real life electron gun that has been developed by Kimball Physics.

them they instead mocked one up.

a more advanced model than Robert Patrick's character. She's got a feminine side

about being signed up at the last minute for Terminator 3 and her first day on
set "I got a call from my agent one night saying there was some trouble on
the Terminator set, and could I step in the next day. I'd never done a film like
this so it was a leap of faith." " The next night, Danes found herself
lying on the ground surrounded by a sea of flames. "I was just looking up
when, all of a sudden, Arnold appeared in full Terminator gear. I hadn't been
told he'd be in the scene so it was a huge surprise." Friday
6th December 2002: Terminator 3 Update: Further to the rumour that Marco

25th November 2002: Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update: Clare Danes
spoke to TV Guide
about her role in the third Terminator movie, Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines.
"I'm doing this scene at night with flames all around me," she recalls,
"and I'm on the ground when Arnold [Schwarzenegger approaches] in his Terminator
garb holding a machine gun. He's looking down on me and I'm thinking, 'This is
not happening.' I was like, 'How do I react?' Thankfully, my character was in
a similar position. She suddenly found herself in this alternative reality, as
did I. So, it didn't require too much imagination." Hit the link for

trucks that was used for filming on Terminator 3 is up for sale. The truck has
apparently been used for a few scenes and one scene is integral to the plot of
the movie. Arnie has alos been talking about the movie "The Movie will be
awesome! Mostow has done a great job. And I´m sure the Fans out there wouldn,t
be dissapointed. We´ve done so many stunts and there will be a lots of action
sequences. Its really incredible. Things that you´ve never seen before.Oh!
She will kick (the Terminatrix) ass. A person that you never want to meet in your
life because she is more than devlish! She had Plasmaweapons(!) and try to kill
me with them. With these specialweapons she can destroy everything that she wants.
Our fight scenes are really extreme. With the Plasmaweapons the TX destroy almost
a whole city and I must prevent that. But it's hard to do this. More at this point
i cant say. Its really top secret! The first Script wasn´t so good. They
made a second Script and this one is really good!" Sunday

his existence. No way he can be traced by Skynet - the highly developed network
of machines that once tried to kill him and wage war on humanity. Until......out
of the shadows of the future steps the T-X (KRISTANNA LOKEN), Skynet's most sophisticated
cyborg killing machine yet. Sent back through time to complete the job left unfinished
by her predecessor, the T-1000, this machine is as relentless as her human guise
is beautiful.

4th November 2002: Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
TNMC have posted a script review
of Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines. It isn't the shooting script, but is quite
entertaining. "The story begins, as with the rest, with the Terminator
arriving in his trademark ball of electricity. This time, however, he lands in
the ocean, his metallic body getting caught in the rotors of a Rapper's boat.
Naturally, the Rapper is introduced doing cocaine and talking smack. Naturally,
his clothes are the Terminator's size. There's the obligatory attempt to take
Arnold down, but in the end he gets his clothes, some weapons, and, naturally,
the Rapper's helicopter. Because EVERY ship has a helicopter". Hit the

8th October 2002: Terminator 3 Update: Pablo Helman who is the visual
effects supervisor for ILM on the upcoming Terminator 3 had this to say about
the FX work "Well, we are doing some really interesting visual doubling on
the TX, on the female terminator and also on Arnold. And it's mainly for very
safety concerns, stunt cinematography. We're also doing a lot of fluid simulation,
which is basically we're taking the skin of the TX and making it into basically
liquid metal, but peeling off and revealing a bunch of surprises. I think it will
be revolutionary from a scientific point of view because like I said, we're developing
a lot of fluid simulation, computer simulation stuff that hasn't been seen before".
Friday
4th October 2002: Terminator 3 Update: The Austrian Oak himself has been
talking about the upcoming Terminator 3 "We had a fantastic script. We had
a great director. We have a fantastic film with really epic proportions and the
chance of utilising all the latest visual effects. So I think that we will have
a good chance of it to look really good and to have a great impact next year when
it comes out." Monday
30th September 2002: Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update: Nick Stahl
has been talking about his role in the upcoming Arnie movie Terminator 3. "I
was obviously really thrilled to get the opportunity. I guess I was a little sort
of intimidated at first. Sort of the scope of the film, sort of the whole franchise
situation and all that you know? And just that the role had kind of been done
before and stuff like that. I guess you know its kind of open to comparison and
things like but you know I was extremely happy just to get the opportunity and
try to tackle it really. It was a great experience for me. It was this type of
film that I hadn't done before and all of that, and I guess a movie of this size
it was a real learning experience for me in many senses.. So I really had to approach
it as a brand new character that really hadn't been done before. It was established
that Jonathan Mostow [director] wanted another actor for the role, so in that
there was no fear of it being different because that was just established from
the get-go you know? What's great about the role is that you just have an automatic
back-story, a whole history that's documented. The one thing about this type of
movie I discovered is that you shoot something 100 different ways, so anytime
your doing anything physical, your gonna do it over and over and over again. It's
gets kind of taxing if you're not prepared for it, but there was a little physical
training involved before hand. I did some training with weapons that I was going
to be using in the movie like different kind of hand-guns and things like that,
so it was all really fun actually. It was all really new for me." Wednesday

June 2002: Terminator 3 Update:

Images (c) News Of The World
The News Of The
World newspaper over here in the UK featured a special on the Terminator 3
production. The spread included two new images from the set of the film that showed
big Arnie carrying a coffin out of a cemetary. The coffin apparently contains
the body of Sarah Connor (SPOLIER -swipe to reveal!). In this scene SWAT teams
open fire on Arnie and he blasts them back with a chain gun.
Aint
It Cool News have posted larger versions of the images, plus one extra one
that we haven't seen before. Hit the link to view them. In other T3 news,
Coming Attractions
have details of an Ausrian sweet manufacturer's plans to have their products put
in the film. The Austrian magazine Der
Standard reports that the makers of a well-known Austrian sweet treat have paid
for a product placement scene in T3. According to the magazine (and by way of
a translation from our scooper), in a scene where the T-800 walks into a 7-11
convenience store, the cyborg grabs a piece of bacon and Manner crisps, then leaves
without paying for the food. The clerk is furious but makes no move to stop the
Terminator (good idea.) Manner treats are pink chocolate crisps sold in Austria.

4th May 2002: Terminator 3: Updated
There have been rumours circulating that a cast member from
the original Terminator film will be cropping up in a cameo in Rise Of The Machines,
Terminator 3. So who is this? Remeber Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese? This appeared
at Corona's Coming Attractions,
"Cutting himself short and carefully watching what he said, the actor
revealed that he will appear in a cameo in T3! He's supposed to return to America
and film his part in the near future. The announcer laughed and asked how Biehn
could reprise his role of Kyle Reese since the character died in the first Terminator.
"Biehn replied 'You go away, you think about it...and you'll realize there's
a place for Kyle Reese in this movie. As minute as it will be'," our scooper
told us". Check out CA
for more details.

The
Arnold Fans reports that Lance Henrikson (Millenium) has joined the cast of
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines. The site reports, "Henriksen informed
me Cameron was toying around with the idea of having detective Vukovich [from
Terminator 2] return in a wheelchair with some battle damage. As we never do see
detective Vukovich die, but only rather an implied death, many Henriksen fans
would love to see a return." The site also states that special
effects god Stan Winston has signed on for the film. 29/1/02:
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
Arnold Schwarzenegger has been talking about why James Cameron
isn't directing Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, this appeared over at Cinescape,
First of all, Cameron was not interested in doing the movie
because he felt like he did not want to tie himself down to any time schedule
on any movie, said Schwarzenegger. He just, as you know, finished
shooting the Imax movie and he will be finished this summer editing it. Then he
will be thinking about the next thing
whatever that is. He does not know
probably nor does anyone else. So when you buy a movie like that, I think you
have to move on it because the amount of money you put out is extraordinary. So
he said right away, No. I dont want to get into that situation.
So the next thing became, Lets find someone that is young and that
has this young spirit of new ideas and all of that. And when you saw, U-571
we all felt that Jonathan had the kind of talent and patience and know-how to
work with special effects, visual effects and all of that. Then when we met him,
it became more and more clear that he has the right personality and calmness to
do the film. And he has since then proven that by hiring the best of the best
people around him from ILM to stunt coordinators to cameramen. Hes been
extremely good at prepping the movie and reworking the script and all of that
stuff. (appeared at Cinescape).
Latino Review
bagged news of an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who commented on Terminator
3 whilst doing promotional work for Collateral Damage. He says that he will be
playing acyborg character in the new movie, but this time the Terminator has a
glitch and will be constantly switching between good and bad modes. He also revealed
that Linda Hamilton will appear in the film, "She is in the movie as flash
backs, but they felt like they didn't want the exact same cast and be limited
with the story, but take certain people out. Let's just assume that she died already
and he (John Connor) is on his own rather than his mother whining away (Laughing)
They felt like you know John Connor is 22-23 years old his mother died and his
is alone and lets move on." (appeared
at Latino Review).

Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
We're hearing reports today that somebody is attched to
play the role of John Connor in Terminator 3. That person, according to The Guardian
newspaper here in the UK is............Edward Norton. How cool is that! This is
just a rumour as it has not been confirmed by anyone associated with the movie.
The Guardian also report that Arnold Schwarzenegger will pick up a record $30
million salary for the movie, plus director Jonathan Mostow will pocket more than
$5 million. The Guardian's film website, Film
Unlimited also says that James Cameron sold the rights for another sequel
in the Terminator series (to producer Gale Anne Herd) on the condition that it
would only be made with Mostow directing. Finally, thes site states that Mostow
took on long time collaborators John
Brancato and Michael Ferris to write the script.
4/12/01:
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
With the script now comlete, it looks like Terminator 3
will go before the cameras in April of 2002 ready for a Summer 2003 release. All
major Hollywood studios are bidding for the US distribution rights to the movie
as well as domestic video distributoin rights. The film is expected to have a
production budget of around $170 million, the biggest budget for a greenlit movie.
The record is currently held by Pearl Harbor which kicked off its production at
$140 million. (Appeared at Movie
Headlines). Meanwhile here's an interview that appeared in The Independent
On Sunday newspaper a month back when our site was being redesigned. Linda Hamilton
talked about the reason why she opted not to appear in The Terminator's second
sequel. 'I read the script and it didn't take my character in any new directions,
The film is really about turning the baton over to Sarah's son John, played by
Eddie Furlong. It's Eddie's movie - and Arnold's. It was like a no-win situation
for me.' 12/8/01:
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
Upcoming
Movies reports that T3 may be posponed as Arnold Schwarzenegger has opted
to star in mob comedy Ump next. This will push the shoot back until at the least
early-mid 2002, so expect to hear that Terminator 3 will be released in the summer
of 2003 alongside the also postponed Matrix sequel. 26/7/01:
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update:
At the premiere of Planet Of The Apes over in New York a
couple of days back, US basketball star Shaquille O' Neill said that he has the
script for Terminator 3 'at home with him right now'. The massive sports star
also said that he wanted to get back into action movies. On Dark
Horizons today, a small piece was posted saying that Vin Diesel, the actor
attached to the project just a couple of days ago (see below), has not been approached
by the filmmakers. It seems that they want O' Neill. More news as it comes in.
22/7/01:
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines Update: It's official, Vin Diesel has
officially been confirmed to star in Terminator 3. He will play the T1-G after
speaking on Century FM here in the UK. Jonathan Mostow is also confirmed to direct. Also
at the San Diego Comics Con, Stan Winston said that he expects to be involved
with the film but it is still in its early stages of production.
Updated : 1/7/01: Terminator 3: Rise Of
The Machines Update: The most notable fact regarding this proposed sequel
is the absence of creator James Cameron. In talks to helm this time around is
Breakdown and U-571 director, Jonathan Mostow. Other directors attached have been
David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Roland Emmerich and Christian Duguay (The Art Of
War). Writing credit belongs to Tedi Sarafian with rewrites being done by John
Brancato and Michael Ferris who were previousley resposible for the excellent
David Fincher film, The Game. The fact that this suo have been brought in fuels
a rumour that the villain of the film may be male and not female as first thought.
A name attached already to the male role is Vin Diesel (The Fast & The Furious,
Pitch Black). The female role would, if the rumour is true, be one of the good
guys. Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially confirmed that he will return
although the actor did state that he hoped to be reunited with James Cameron again.
The collaboration will not have to be reserved for the proposed True Lies sequel
as Cameron has finally said that he definatley will pass on directing T3.
Shooting has been put back from early spring 2001 to later in the year, after
the proposed SAG strike. It's worth noting that T3 will be the first
of two sequels proposed by C-2 Pictures, a company set up by ex-Carolco guys Mario
Kassar and Andrew Vajna specifically to make the films.
