Tuesday
10th February 2004: Terminator 4 Update:
Producer Mari Kassar has revealed in an interview that
development is continuing on Terminator 4 "T4 is
in the works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9
months. Once we have that, we will proceed with the
production. The question that has never been answered
in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can
come from the future to change the present. But we never
see how they go back to the future, which is a subject
that can be explored. I think you already know where
T4 is going from the ending of T3".
Friday 5th December 2003: Be Cool, The Scorpion King 2, Spyhunter, T4, Predator 3:
Moviehole talked to The Rock today, who talked about his upcoming projects. He also confirmed that Uma Thurman and Vince Vaughn will be joining him on "Be Cool", the sequel to "Get Shorty".
Clint: They’re talking about you as someone that might replace Arnold for “The Terminator 4” or “Predator 3”. Would you be interested?
The Rock: I’ve heard that a lot actually. I don’t know. Thing is, Arnold has put so much into those roles. They’re his roles. I liked “Terminator 3” but I loved the first two movies, and “Predator”, the first one, is just fantastic.
Clint: You got to do a bit of comedy in “Welcome to the Jungle”. Was that fun?
The Rock: Sure. That was a lot of fun. I always wanted to do an action movie that also had comedy in it, like “Lethal Weapon” or “Midnight Run”. My Next movie is an even broader comedy role; I’m doing the sequel to “Get Shorty”. We start in February.
Clint: So not an action role then?
The Rock: No, purely a comedy role. What I’d like to do in my acting career is diversify myself, learn as much as I can about the process as possible. “Be Cool” is going to be great, it’s John Travotla, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaughn…we’ve got this huge cast. And get this: I play a bodyguard who wants to break into Hollywood, who can sing, and he’s gay! [Laughs]
Clint: You’ve got quite a full schedule, haven’t you?
The Rock: Yep, “Spy Hunter”, and then “Be Cool” and of course “Walking Tall” coming out soon. I’m not complaining though. It’s hard to believe sometimes. I mean 7 years ago, I had nothing to do.
Clint: Have we seen the last of “The Scorpion King”?
The Rock: Never say Never. I think so, but, well, I’d like to do another one. I mean, there’s such a big gap in timeline between the start of “The Mummy” sequel and the end of “The Scorpion King” that I think there’s a story in the middle there too. How he becomes and all.

8th October 2003: Terminator 4 Update:
Looks like that's all Arnie's movie projects on total
hold from here on in with his winning of the Californian
Election race. What will happen to Terminator 4? Will
that be retooled where it doesn't require his character
and does that make King Conan a dead project or will
they recast that?
Monday
1st September 2003: Terminator 4 Update:
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines star Nick Stahl has
been talking about a
possible fourth film in the franchise. Stahl says even
if Arnold
Schwarzenegger beats Gary Coleman for the California
governorship, there
will probably still be a T4. "They're tossing around
different ideas now
because they're committed to move forward. I know they're
developing ideas
to do it without him if he's unavailable." Stahl
added that he would do the
film with or without Arnie.
Monday
11th August 2003: Terminator 4 Update:
Producer Mario Kassar has been talking about Terminator
4 "T4 is in the
works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9 months.
Once we have that, we
will proceed with the production. The question that
has never been answered
in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can
come from the future to
change the present. But we never see how they go back
to the future, which
is a subject that can be explored. I think you already
know where T4 is
going from the ending of T3." He was also asked
if Arnie will return "It
depends on what he's doing in life. If he wants to do
politics, he'll do
politics. Then we'll have to figure out a way to do
it without him. But he
has expressed interest in doing T4."
Monday
11th August 2003: Terminator 4 Update:
Moritz Bormann, CEO of Internationalmedia has been talking
about Terminator
4 "If we come up with a good story, there will
be a fourth Terminator --
with or without Arnold,"
Wednesday
9th July 2003: Terminator 4 Update: Nick Stahl has confirmed he has signed
on for another couple of Terminator movies "I'm actually signed on for
two more. But I can't even think a week into the future, much less like that.
I wouldn't find out until a couple months before they filmed it. I barely knew
where the movie I was in was going, to a degree, until the last second. It
was such a secretive thing" Friday
20th June 2003: Terminator 4 Update: Moritz Borman has been talking about
why they hired Jonathan Mostow for T3 and also the possibility of a sequel
"Jonathan cracked the script and established the right balance of action,
storytelling and comedic balance," Borman said. "The picture needs
legs -- a second and third weekend -- and Jonathan has given us that chance.
A fourth film will be more difficult, but the story opens the door for another
and we'll do one as soon as is feasible. We'd like Jonathan back -- if he
hasn't gotten too expensive."
Friday 13th June 2003: Terminator 4 Update: Contrary
to stories that Arnie would definetely do a Terminator 4 he has this week been
revealing that the filming on Terminator 3 took a lot out of him and that the
fourth one would have to be titled "Terminator in a Wheelchair. When I do
a stunt 30 times over and over, I feel my muscles hurt the next day."

Monday 19th May 2003: Terminator 4 Update: In
a statement which simply begs the headline Ill be back, Arnold Schwarzenegger
has said hes up for a fourth Terminator film. "Is this my last
Terminator? No. I've so many more years left, bragged the 56-year-old.
I'm totally full of energy and thanks to my weight training and cardio-vascular
training I'm in great shape." As for number three, he said: "Go
out and see the movie. The more successful the movie is, the faster we can
make Terminator 4."

Friday 16th May 2003: Terminator 4 Update: News reaches us from Cannes
that Terminator 4 has been greenlit. Personally I say let's wait to see how T3
performs at the box office, if the movie tanks can you see anyone wanting a fourth
one?
