Thursday
4th September 2003: The Upside of Anger Update:
Anon has just sent in the following report from the filming
of The Upside
of Anger "
Epsom College, Surrey, Location, filmed middle of last week
in Aug. 2003
Alicia Witt gets up onto the stage to accept her graduation
certificate. A
happy Joan Allen (her mother, in the picture) is there. She
applauds her
daughter, as do all of the extras, who are there as family of
the
graduates. Later, Allen congratulates her on her new announcement
of her
engagement to a boy. (Brit actor, playing an American) Privately,
Joan
Allen's character is furious.
Later, in another scene filmed in the grounds of Epsom College,
Joan Allen
shows how much she disapproves with regard to Alicia-Daughter's
announcement, by berating her other daughter's vociferously,
whom she
suspects knew all about the engagement for some time, but concealed
the
info from mom. Mother accuses them of colluding and encouraging
the
juvenile union.
There was about 7 takes in the latter scene, and Joan Allen
was flawless
throughout all takes. Totally professional."
