MTV Films has acquired rights to Holly Black's "Valiant," a modern-day fairy tale project that's been set up with Mosaic Media Group producers Chuck Roven and Alex Gartner. "Valiant," published by Simon and Schuster on June 1, revolves around a 17-year-old runaway who befriends a group of teens living in the New York subways and discovers that some of the city's inhabitants are a magical species trying to survive in the modern world. Paramount will distribute the film.
