Moviehole posted some information regarding the Jon Bon Jovi vehicle and sequel to the 1998 movie John Carpenter's Vampires, "The film is done. It was finished just before Christmas. But the last thing I heard is that it is going direct to video. I don't know when it is being released, however...The odds of it being a "hit" to warrant another film are slight. So I think Carpenter's Hopes that this film starts another Anthology Series are dashed. No one who worked on the film expects there to be a Vampires III". Thanks to Moviehole and Dark Horizons.

Just received an email from the guy that's doing the music for Vampires: Los Muertos, Bryan Tyler. He tells me that the music is a cross between southwestern guitar rock, orchestral horror music, choir, electronica, and regional Latin music. Sounds cool. He also revealed a little more about the movies plot.

The film was shot on location in Mexico at various monasteries and ancient ruins and the music was scored in Los Angeles and Seattle.

Thanks Brian.

John Carpenter's Vampires: Los Muertos is the sequel to John Carpenters Vampires release in the US back in 1998 and the UK in 1999. Now I saw that movie in Mexico while on holiday and didn't think much of it. Sure aspects pf it were okay but as vampire films go, I much preffered Blade or From Dusk 'Till Dawn. But, Sony have greenlighted a sequel and this one with the subtitle Los Muertos (The Dead), is brought to us by Halloween III: Season Of The Witch director Tommy Lee Wallace. Here he also pens the screenplay.

Jon Bon Jovi takes the lead role accompanied by Tom Guinee who reprises his role from the first film as Father Adam Guiteau.

Plotlines are still a bit vague, but the film probably follows the furthur tales of Father Adam Guiteau's vampire hunting.

Filming took place in Mexico from January to March of this year.
