The following promo images for M. Night Shyamalan's The
Village were just received today. As always with a Shyamalan
project details are thin on the ground, but here's hoping he
doesn't do one of his usual crappy cameo's and no shock twist
two minutes from the end, it's getting stale!

24th May 2004: The Village Update:
Director M. Night Shyamalan has gathered some of his cast and
crew together to shoot some additional footage for the ending
to The Village, he's usually quite particular about the finales
of his movies which are usually the most memorable scenes thanks
to the twists he pulled off in The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.
Actors Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Joaquin Phoenix, and
Bryce Howard where all used and the July 30th release date still
holds.

The new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village has
just went live on the official site: http://www.thevillage.movies.com
Next
Monday, on May 3rd, Shyamalan will return to ABC as host of
the “Monday Movie of the Week,” which is the network
television premiere of “Unbreakable.” On that evening,
Night will take audiences further inside “The Village,”
showcasing never-before-seen material including an extended
look at the film, interviews, and behind-the-scenes access.

Tuesday 9th December 2003: The Village Update:
SCI FI Channel has been granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village". The supernatural feature has been filming in New York since October.
"M. Night Shyamalan is a fascinating filmmaker, " said Bonnie Hammer, President of SCI FI Channel. "We are thrilled at the possibility of doing an out-of-the-ordinary project on an extraordinary filmmaker."
"Protecting the privacy and integrity of my set, for the actors and crew, is of considerable importance," said Shyamalan. "Agreeing to give unlimited access is a new experience for me."
"The Village" stars Joaquin "Gladiator" Phoenix, William "Altered States" Hurt, Adrien "The Piano" Brody and Sigourney "Alien" Weaver. Set in 1897, the film tells the story of a close-knit community with a strange race of 'creatures' that reside in the woods around them.

M. Night Shyamalan's The Woods will soon be changing its title
because
another movie is being released with the same name. Blue Car
star Agnes
Bruckner is teaming with Patricia Clarkson to star in The Woods
for United
Artists and director Lucky McKee. Shooting is scheduled to start
on
September 15 in Montreal. McKee's project is likely to keep
its name because
a Disney spokesman explained that the title for Shyamalan's
film was just a
working one.

Jeff has been in touch advising that auditons have taken place
for The
Woods " My wife and two children went and had
their pictures taken in Downingtown, PA. for the stand in cast
. We are
of German ancestry and my wife said they were looking for some
long hair
1897 looking people and I should have gone. They
had to be measured for hats & clothing and were informed
that extras made
$8/hr. Filming is to start in southeastern Pennsylvania around
or in
October with the film name being "The Woods" era late
1800's. I do not
know of exact locations but heard that they were doing the same
picture
auditions if you will last weekend or this in western , Pa.

Jayne
Atkinson is joining the cast of M. Night Shyamalan's The Woods.
The
actress, Tony-nominated for her performance in Enchanted April,
closes in
the stage adaptation on Sunday and reports three weeks later
to a location
outside Philadelphia, where the director is at work on the film.
Meanwhile,
a script review of the supernatural thriller has appeared online.

inevitably contains some major plot spoilers, so if you don’t
want the movie

M.
Nighty Shyamalan has signed up Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas
Howard for his next movie The Woods. The role she has signed
up for was originally going to be played by Kirsten Dunst. Dunst
has instead signed up to
Cameron Crowe's next movie Elizabethtown that he has written
and will
direct.

Director
M. Night Shyamalans next movie will be The Woods, the
first film
of a two-picture deal Shyamalan has with the Walt Disney Co.
Ashton Kutcher,
Kirsten Dunst and Joaquin Phoenix are all in talks to star.
The film, which
is being eyed as a summer 2004 release, is set in 1897 and revolves
around a
close-knit community which lives with the frightening knowledge
that a
mythical race of creatures resides in the woods around them.
