2nd July 2003: The Villikon Chronicles Update:
Just received the following info on The Villikon Chronicles
" It's been reported for months that YK PRODUCTIONS has actively
been pursuing a deal that would bring THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES
franchise to the big screen. While an official announcement of
such a deal is still pending, VC comics creator Bryan Kinnaird
is at liberty to announce that the prequel to his popular 2001-2002
VC graphic novel series is in development as a Web series for
www.villikonchronicles.com
Relatively
unknown artist Norm Mireles has joined with original VC artist
Roy Young to bring the series to life. THE CRUCIBLES OF MYSTERE
will take place 5 years before the events in the VILLIKON CHRONICLES
saga. The VC storyline followed the crusade of a soldier who was
banished to a prison world and spent 10 years trying to escape.
He was joined by a band of fellow convicts and a slave woman named
Mystere, marooned as a child.
"Mystere's
story will follow her plight as a child ending up on this prison
world, and maturing into a legendary warrioress. There's no projected
time frame for the series to begin airing on the internet, but
it's based on my film script for a Villikon prequel, and will
follow the adventures of the Mystere character." Kinnaird
also confirms that Penthouse Pet CHEYENNE SILVER, whom modeled
for the Mystere character, and has long been rumored to be tapped
to appear in a convention film trailer will guest as the character
at the SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON July 17-20.
"We have
a lot of good stuff planned for the convention. A new poster series
featuring Mystere will debut, and to kick it off in style, Cheyenne
Silver will appear all four days, and most of the time in character.
We also contracted DOK ARMOR earlier this year to give our Sentinel
uniforms a facelift. Look for our soldiers to take control of
the convention and dominate the likes of any attending stormtroopers
or cylons!"
