John Barrie has been in touch to advise that he was visiting
Chicago, and just happened to stumble across Nicolas Cage filming
his next movie, The Weatherman, and managed to get the following
pics for us! The
first two are of Cage, and the others are of the area being
filmed.

3rd February 2004: The Weather Man Update:
Michael Caine has been added to the cast of The Weather Man
that starts fliming in Chicago on the 23rd February. He will
play Cage's character's father in the movie.
Tuesday 23rd December 2003 The Weather Man Update:
Michael Caine has reportedly joined The Weather Man, to be directed by Gore Verbinski and toplining Nicolas Cage and Hope Davis. Caine will play father to Cage's character. The film is about a divorced Chicago weatherman who is up for a new job on a network morning show in New York. As he is preparing to leave for the Big Apple, he must make peace with his ex-wife and kids.
Thursday 4th December 2003: The Weather Man Update:
Paramount Pictures has signed Hope Davis to topline opposite Nicolas Cage in the Chicago-based drama The Weather Man. She will portray the estranged wife of a successful TV weathercaster who's about to leave Chicago for Gotham. With his personal life in disarray, he attempts to reconcile with his spouse and kids. The movie, to be directed by Gore Verbinski, is due to start filming on February 17th in Chicago. A fan site has opened up for The Weatherman Click Here.
Monday 1st December 2003: The Weatherman Update:
Although filming on The Weatherman is not scheduled to start until next February in Chicago , Gore Verbinksi has already filmed some footage at the State Street Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago . He chose to do this as the Chicago parade is the only one that has a Spongebob Squarepants balloon.
Monday 24th November 2003: The Weather Man Update:
Paramount Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to Escape Artists' The Weather Man. Gore Verbinski will direct Nicolas Cage in the drama, which is scheduled to start filming in February in Chicago. The film, said to be in the $20 million-$30 million range, was written by Steve Conrad and is described as being in the vein of About Schmidt and American Beauty. It's about a divorced Chicago weatherman who is up for a new job on a network morning show in New York. As he is preparing to leave for the Big Apple, he must make peace with his ex-wife and kids.

Skye has been in touch to advise that the filming on The Weatherman will take place in Chicago starting next Feruary for a 40 day shoot.
Friday 1st August 2003: The Weather Man Update:
Sony Pictures Entertainment are in talks to sign up Director Gore Verbinski
and Nicolas Cage for a project being developed by Escape Artists called The
Weather Man. The script has been written by Steve Conrad with filming being
planned for next February. The movie will follow a divorced Chicago
weatherman up for a new job on a network morning show in New York. As he is
preparing to leave for the Big Apple, he must make peace with his ex-wife
and kids.
 Thursday 1st May 2003: The Weatherman Update:
The bidding war for The Weatherman, a spec written by Steve Conrad, has been
won by Sony-based production and financing outfit Escape Artists. Conrad
last penned 1993 Robert Duvall/Richard Harris starrer Wrestling Ernest
Hemingway. The film follows a divorced TV weatherman who tries to reconcile
with his estranged wife and kids.
