Some
films simply deserve to get lost and never make it to DVD. Unfortunately
this isn’t what happened with Bad Girls From Mars. This
silly horror spoof, which also seems to be a sex comedy spoof,
is so bad that it should only be seen on late night cable. Even
then it would likely bore audiences because of the awful unoriginality
in even the simplest of tasks, such as women undressing.
A masked man has killed off every leading woman cast in the
film Bad Girls From Mars, and nobody seems to know why. In one
last attempt to finish the film, the director hires European
sex expert, Emanuelle. Emanuelle arrives and immediately begins
to sleep with everyone she meets, while barely escaping death
at every turn.
Edy Williams plays Emanuelle with an embarrassingly large
amount of nudity. She doesn’t look the slightest bit attractive
and there are even moments where she resembles a man with a
breast job more than she does a woman. It doesn’t matter
much anyways because it seems like the film is making fun of
the sex scenes as much as they are making fun of horror films.
Nothing about this is meant to be taken seriously, which is
the only positive comment to be made about a film this shamefully
bad.
With the horror being silly and the sex horribly done, the
only thing remaining is the comedy, which is only humorous because
of how awful it is. The only real laughs to be taken from this
film are the ones which are unintentional. Although it seems
as though they are aware how bad the film is, that only makes
it that much worse. Every actor involved seems to be determined
to overdo the comedy in order to make this film their big break,
or they are so indifferent that it is apparent all that was
keeping them on set was the paycheck.
At eighty-six minutes this film feels like it may never end,
and even after the mystery is solved it will be forgotten moments
later. Bad Girls From Mars was made in 1991 and it should have
never seen the light of the 21 century. The only thing to be
hopeful about is that there are no special features on the disc
to further embarrass those involved.
