Charlie's
Angels DVD Review:
The Movie
Drew,
Cameron, Lucy. Those three words make this one of my favorite
movies from 2000. How can you go wrong? The Charlie's Angels
saga continues with three new "Angels." You are
quickly aquatinted to each of the girls and the plot starts
to unfold.
A technology
CEO has been kidnapped, and it is up to the Angels to find
him. They also have to apprehend the CEO's stolen technology.
This plot moves along quickly and twists and turns. Do not
believe everything you see.
First
time Director McG has done a stellar job of making this a
fun, loud, colorful, and action packed thrill ride! So if
you are in trouble, just give the Angels a call, they will
be beautiful and will kick some bad guy ASS!

The Video
The video
quality from Sony is very impressive. When a film makes 125
million at the box office, you make sure it looks good on
a television set. Also, the anamorphic video (fits any screen)
works perfectly, without making the picture look squished.

The Audio
One of
the most important parts of this movie is the music. The Digitally
Mastered Audio is beyond impressive. Each beat just sounds
better! Although you can hear the music great, you can still
hear the dialogue perfectly. Sony has done a great job here!

The Extras
On this
extras heavy DVD you are shown everything about the making
of this film. There is a full length Director Commentary,
and a full length Cinematographer Commentary. There are featurettes
on set design, how the girls are dressed up, the training
for the martial arts sequences, and the stunts.
There are three deleted or extended scenes. They are not that
impressive, and they were rightfully removed. All were shown
at the end credits as bloopers.
The most interesting of all of the featurettes is the "Wired
Angels:" which shows how the girls train for and how
they move about in the wire sequences (which is every fight
scene). They also show before and after shots of the film,
with and without the wires, and I just have to say that those
CGI guys did a great job, because there were a lot of wires!
The outtakes and bloopers is very disappointing, it is just
the end reel without the text. The song "All The Small
Things" by Blink 182 is played. There are also two music
videos, one by Destiny's Child and the other by Apollo Four
Forty (they play the revamped theme song).
There are also two trailers for the film. One Teaser, and
One full length. Plus trailers for upcoming films such as:
Final Fantasy, and Joe Dirt. The most impressive Extra is
the animated menus, which are all over the place.
