Dude,
Where's My Car? DVD Review:
The Movie
In my
mind, Dude, Where's My Car? will always be a classic. Any
movie that involves hot women, a character named Kristy Boner,
and Michael Bower (aka Donkeylips from Salute Your Shorts
-- back when Nickelodeon didn't suck), is a flick not to be
missed.
Now if
you've seen this movie, you probably thinking, "this
reviewer is on heroin! I hated that movie!" Well, this
movie is not for the average film buff. In order to enjoy
it, one must ignore plot holes, stupidity and weirdness.
This flick
is set aside for someone who is ready to relax, laugh, and
get high off of all the activity our stoner heroes are involved
in.
For the relaxed open minded viewer: 8 out of 10
For the
hardcore nitpicker: 3 out of 10 (If you can't relax for a
mild 83 minutes, you need help.)
The Video
Crystal
clear, a nice transfer, but the lack of any real special effects
and animated menus doesn't utilize the good picture quality

The Audio
Good,
but nothing groundbreaking. It's got good options of Dolby
Surround and 5.1 Digital Sound.

The Extras
Commentary
track with Director Danny Leiner, Ashton Kutcher, and Seann
William Scott
Wow! This
commentary track is friggin hilarious. Quips, insults, lame
jokes, and name-calling, as well as some decently insightful
comments by the director are all included on this track. It
is very funny and it shows that Ashton Kutcher and Seann William
Scott are a couple of lovable jackasses in real life too.

7 extended
scenes
A few
scenes each selectable from the menu (not one of those annoying
sections where all the scenes are grouped into one feature).
Even though they are extended scenes, only a few were recognizably
extended.

Featurette
A little
behind the scenes documentary. Fun, informative, but it's
really only something that needs to be viewed once or twice.

Music
Video: "Stoopid Ass" by Grand Theft Auto
Lame video.
Lamer song. It's the standard movie tie-in video and the song
plain sucks!

Always
cool to have on a DVD. It's cool to look back and see what
made me want to see this movie. It should've made everyone
else want to see it too. This is a classic flick, people,
c' mon!!!
