Grimm...and grimmer.

Another grim week at the U.S. Box Office with the supposed big movie of the week The Brothers Grimm slumping in at 2 with a miserly $15 million, sure it had sat on the shelf for ages and Miramax did just dump it to clear the decks before they jump ships, but come on, it's a Gilliam movie! Still that's a whole lot better than the crappy The Cave managed with a terrible $6.2 million. Cole Hauser straight to video beckons for any of your future movies methinks. Still The 40 Year Old Virgin manages to hold the number 1 spot for the 2nd week so it's not all bad, but does it have the legs to make the box office that it's nearest comparison Wedding Crashers did? If it has it's got a LONG way to go to reach that movies $188 million haul.

This'll be the last commentary for two weeks as I'm off on my holidays, here's hoping the box office slump is arrested by the time I come back, otherwise I'll see you in 14!

You finally got sick of Chocolate!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has finally been kicked off the top of the UK Box Office, by Bo and Luke Duke. Na more like Jessica Simpson's Daisy Dukes! Not a particularly huge take for it though with only £1.7 million, imagine what that would have been if the film was better than the turd it is?

Elsewhere The Cave sneaks in at 5 with only $0.56 million, half of what its nearest comparison The Descent made in its 1st week of release, shows that quality always wins out.

The only other new entry for those that noticed was The Adventures of Shark Boy & lav Girl that limped in at 8 with $0.4 million and will probably disappear entirely next week.

And speaking of that see you in 14 days as I'm off on my holidays!
