Two
Weeks Notice Movie Review:
Sandra
Bullock stars as Lucy Kelson, a brilliant lawyer and a Harvard
Law School graduate who ends up working for a selfish super
wealthy real estate developer by the name of George Wade
(Hugh Grant) in the romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice.
She
cares about the poor, the environment and preserving historical
buildings while he couldnt care less about these things.
George is more into living life as a playboy. Getting laid
and partying are his most important goals in life.
When
Lucy tries to talk George into not destroying a community
center building, he convinces her to come work for him as
his chief counsel. He tells her she can help her causes
better by working for him rather than fighting him.
Lucy
is an excellent attorney who is unlike all the former incompetent
bimbos who held her position previously in the firm. George
chose them on looks alone not brains.
He is
so vain, petty and childish that Lucy not only has to take
care of Georges real estate business relating to legal
issues but also has to help pick his clothes, write his
speeches and do a bunch of silly tasks for him.
Georges
constant pestering and stupid demands finally makes Lucy
decide to quit and she gives him her two weeks notice that
she is leaving the firm.
Underneath
all the bickering and fighting there is a very strong attraction
between the two that cant be denied.
Now
George has to use all his charm to try and win Lucy back
and tell her that he loves her deeply.
This
movie is a predictable piece of fluff that is charming and
fun. Sandra and Hugh play to their likable screen personalities
with ease. Their fans wont be disappointed.
Even
though this film offers no surprises and has a pretty straightforward
formula, it is still enjoyable and packed with enough silly
laughs to please most of you.
Cheesy
romantic moments are provided for no extra charge mixed
in with some catchy dialogue applied with great timing.
Two
Weeks Notice is a wonderful date flick that is quite amusing
and should put you in the mood for romance.
